A Maryland-based Irish folk duo specializing in pub tunes, rebel songs, and Celtic-inspired folk/rock/pop music.
The band is committed to sharing their passion for Irish culture through music and has been recognized as "probably the best guitar and bodhrán Irish duo in the DMV." Their continuously growing repertoire began with a few rebel songs performed at a friend’s house party and then a few open mics and we finally scheduled our first paid gig on Friday, March 13, 2020, which got cancelled the night before due to the pandemic. We didn’t let that stop us and are now performing over a hundred shows a year.
O'McPub Band is known for tailoring their performances to the unique atmosphere of each event, whether it's an intimate acoustic set or a high-energy show in a bustling venue. Their versatility and experience allow them to adapt to any audience and establishment. The band enjoys taking requests and hearing the personal stories that patrons associate with certain songs.

They've entertained audiences of all ages and levels of familiarity with Irish music. "O'" and "Mc" signify "descendant of" and "son of" in Gaelic languages, representing our lineage and the heritage passed through generations despite obstacles and hardships. Our Irish roots are deeply connected to music, art, literature, food, drink, and the spirited “craic.”
Our music honors these traditions, each song carrying echoes of age-old tales and the souls who've shared them.
